Default Del sol clock/radio problem

I was wondering if anyone here may know the answer to my problem. I started my car today and the radio and the clock in my Del Sol would not turn on. I tryed changing the radio fuse but it didnt make a difference. Anybody have an idea as to what it could be?

change the 7.5 amp fuse under your hood and you'll be good. I had the same problem

I'm having a similar problem with my 95 del sol. I brought it to the dealership because I wanted to have a broken antenna replaced and a broken 6 cd changer removed, along with regular maintenance. They fiddled with the antenna but wanted to charge $300+ to replace it so I said to forget it. They did remove the cd changer, though. When they brought the car back to me, the clock was no longer working and the radio wanted a code. The guy said it's not a fuse because when you hit the R button the clock, you can still see it (though only barely and it doesn't 'take' changes). Also, I can enter the code into the radio and it will work again -- until I shut the car off. Every time I start the car, it wants the code again. I figure based on the 'so what' attitude I got from the service people when I pointed out these things weren't working (though they worked without problem prior to bringing it in), I'm going to have to fix this myself. But I know basically nothing about cars, especially anything electrical. Can anyone offer a total newbie some help on how to figure out the solution? That under the hood fuse sounds like it might be worth trying but I have NO idea where to find it and I don't have a manual for my car.

pull the clock out and check the plug to make sure there is battery voltage

Yeah, I'm bumpin an old thread, but it just helped me out bigtIme. I pulled two clusters apart, swapped clocks, dimmers, changed bulbs.... ANYTHING to get the clock working. I had to wire the stereo differently to get it working (bought the car with no radio and clock not working, just been troubleshooting).

It was just the fuse. Good info here! I was gonna make a thread asking this same question. Saved me a lot of time.

Mine was just the fuse, too. I felt silly I didn't try it first. But I find it more aggravating that the Honda serviceman kept insisting that it couldn't be the fuse and that I'd need a new clock. Found out that particular dealership has a bad reputation. I'll never go back there again!

@Vegas -- Your radio and clock need voltage from the hood Back Up fuse to remember their settings.
