Default obdII ecu questions

I have been looking at crome, and i believe that it is only for obdI, is that true.

If so, is there anything i can use besides hondata thats for tuning? I have the LX so hondata doesn't even support my ecu, i just want to remove the governor and maybe tune it a little when i get my cam

yes crome is only for OBD1.

hondata does not support OBD2a/b except for the K-pro boxes.

there is no tuning available for the OBD2 ECU. your only options are piggybacks or full standalones if you do not want to convert to OBD1.

nope that won't do squat to remove a speed limiter. don't know what to tell you. you drive over 115 mph regularly anyhow?

nope. but theres a few deserted roads where i live, and i mean deserted, no houses, cars or anything. its a good 3-4 miles of straight away where some people take there cars. im just looking for a way to do it. what are the piggy back and standalones?

piggyback: emanage - I do not know if this can remove the limiter

standalone: AEM EMS, FAST, haltech, etc, etc. - way WAY WAY overkill to use for removing a limiter and very expensive.

if you're dead set on this I recommend converting to OBD 1 and looking into crome/uberdata

LOL well then just don't drive so fast!

I'm not as familiar w/ the 5th gen ECUs as I am with the 6th gen, could you run the 5th gen EX ecu?

On the 6th gen the EX does not have a speed limiter. Just a thought that may or may not apply.

i could run the EX with no problems except it'll throw the vtec CEL because i don't have it. But someone suggested i just wire up the selinoid and it wouldn't throw it

After my accident, I wish my car HAD a governor on it.

haha how fast were you going. I can honestly say i've only hit it 3 times. i just don't like knowing its there, but at the same time i do. but i figure 90 mph+ = pretty much the same thing for fines and crashing. And i really don't want to go like 140

I've topped 140 several times before the crash, but was only going 120 when I lost control. 579 feet of skid marks before I ever left the road completely, and another 600 feet afterwards. The car stopped about 17 trees later, ranging between 1.25" and 6.5" in diameter. Hands down, the dumbest thing I've ever done.
