FILTERS???
okay i posted that my car runs at different mphs with my short ram intake...and with the stock it does 80mph....while with the intake it does 87-89mph..i just want to make sure...can it be the filter??and which filter might it be...also for all you fifth gen owners...wat speed does ur lude get up to at redline on 3rd gear..thanks for any input..
Dude we told you before, no no no no no... You're not making sense... Not trying to be mean, but listen to what we're telling you..
You're Air Filter is not making your car go almost 10mph faster!!!

Adding an intake can increase your horsepower. This simply allows you to get to your redline faster which increases your acceleration provided you have enough traction. You cannot attain a higher speed by making more horsepower unless you change your gear ratios or final drive, or your car is drag limited in its top speed. The latter instance can only apply in your final gear.

well you are saying something that CANNOT affect each other.
its like saying you changing lugnuts and suddenly your car radio has more bass. its stupid and doesn't even sound logical.

I understand what your asking.. But it can not be answered because they don't affect each other.
But I'll do what I can to make sense of it.
1. Your Stock Intake had a bad/clogged filter so you weren't getting enough air to get to those faster 7-9mphs..
2. You're revving higher than you think to hit that.
This doesn't make since because:
Your Transimission controls how fast you go in each gear or top speed, your other mods only control how fast it gets to that speed.
Also, I'm not understanding why you think your car is going to break down because of this?? If it was bad... Why would it be giving "better performance?" What change is the intake going to make to cause you to break down?!?
Also, if you're worried about it breaking down, why are you revving it to Redline to see how fast you can go with your new intake?? Seems counter productive if you're trying to keep your engine safe.
And no, there is nothing wrong with asking a question. It is always encouraged. But you're not listening to our answers... There is no correlation between the Intake and going Faster Speeds in select Gears.
If this doesn't help... I give up...

No problem..
It's just hard to answer a question when the variables aren't related.. That's all.. But ya, some just want to point that part out and not figure out something else that the poster could be thinking...
