91 ls auto died at about 2800rpm won't start till you wait. wtf?
91 ls auto with 184000. new distributor(last owner)
Okay, this morning i was driving and under moderate accel the tak started to jump up at rpms over 4800 or so. the engine was opperating fine but the tack was jumpping up a bit. when i was driving home at around 2800 rpm the tach dropped to 0. car bogged down a bit then i stepped on it and the tach jumped up to where it was and the car took off as expected for acceling. got another 5 minutes down the road the same thing happened except it just out right died when i stepped on it. tried cranking it for about 10 minutes (not continuiously) then pushed it to a side street. after about 15 minutes total time it just started up again. I stoped at the gas stationg to top off with prieum and it wouldn't start again. 10 minuted later it would start. Ran it in low gear (above 3000rpm) till i got home (2miles) i need some ideas!!!
NOTE: when cranking it it was vibrating a bit, not like it was trying to start but somthing else. (no internal damage suspected) Also the gas was pretty low in the latter part of the day ( sucked somthing outta the tank or water??)

Generally when the charging system is out of volts the tach will die, telling you that you have about 2 minutes to find somewhere to park it. I'd check the charging system and the fuel system too. On older volvos when the fuel pump went the car would run for a hour or so, until the pump got good and hot, then it'd have to sit and cool.
the tach died when the engine died. as far as charging, all the lights and everything were bright and i had no problem cranking it to try and re start it. how can i check the fuel pump or what else could it be??? my injectors are kinda nosiey too. could be normal but just a note.
