Most any hood pins are all about the same, i'm not sure what kind mine are doesn't really matter they hold my hood well, sadly I was forced to use them.

I would really look into getting locking pins for safety though.

I've had my pins over 2 years with zero problems.

I have some no name hood pins on my car, Ive had them on my s2000 as well, worked perfectly with no problems.. its all in the install.. as with almost all car parts. if properly installed, will serve function properly, and last long.. no rust, no scratches, no dents..

Sorry, but I don't think someone from San Diego can really talk about rust to someone living in Illinois. tpod, if you're so concerned just put a layer of wax on them.

I wouldn't worry about rust, they're just pins. Not to mention they're easily accessable.

I bought those they were like $30, sorry to say but they were exactly like the 99 cent ebay ones on a friends car minus the sparco logo. If I was going to do it again I would just get the cheap ones, and by the way they are aluminum not steel. the pins are steel but I think they are plated, no rust in a couple years. The only thing I replaced was the mounting hardware I used some small allen head stainless bolts with locknuts and washers. looks better and more secure than the crap they give you.

Why not try some of these if you want quality?

whetever.

i live in san diego county california and i have sparco hood pins on my EF. they are a bit rusted after 2 years of ownership. the guy who had the car before me put them on, so i don't know how long he had them on there, but they were on the car when i bought it in Jan. 2005. i have a few other sparco products on the car (seats/steering wheel) and have been very pleased with the quality of their stuff, but the hood pins are not rust-proof just because they have sparco stamped on them. no-name/APC pins are probably just as good.
my $0.02
