advance timing...
i wanted to ask which why do you tilt your distributor to advance the timing a bit.. is forward )towards you) or (away from you)... not the a great question but i needed to know
Why would you want to advance the ignition timing? Or are you trying to advance cam timing?
Anyways, if you advance your ignition timing too far you will get:
Engine ping or spark knock
Slow and jerky cranking (starting), especially when the engine is warm
The engine may overheat
If timing is too far retarded:
Lack of power and performance
May require a long period of starter cranking before starting
Poor fuel economy
Follow the proper timing procedure's for your car.
