scratched Headlights

scratched Headlights
My headlights got scratched, and are getting dull quickly. I was thinking of sanding them down to a "like-new" appearance, and then sealing them with some clear coat. Has anyone ever done this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance
