What's the worst that could happen? Do I need a new motor?
Recently I took out my B16A motor to do a build up. I only took it out because I saw oil on top of my pistons and it was idleing at 3000 rpm no matter what I did to it. I figured the timing was messed up and my rings were bad. I was considering buying a new block, but do I really have to? Could I just replace the rings and get the motor tuned correctly?
did you ever do a compression test to see what kind of numbers you're getting before you pulled the motor out.
you can but its a PITA
i would have done ALOT more tests before you pulled the motor
dont jump to conclusions.
