The JDM D16A is the same motor as a USDM D16Z6 from what i can remember. So, go with a D16Z6 pump.. if there is even a difference.

d16a block is NOT the same are the d16z6 block. I bought some ARP head bolts for my setup and i couldn’t use it. D16As blocks are little different.

Thanks for you input though. But I think you might be right, I think all D water pumps will fit. Just wanted to make sure if anyone had any first hand experience.

The d16a? it has stamped "d16a" on it and comes fron the jdm 92-5 cars? if so its the same thing as a d16z6 but with different name..so i dont know why the arp's didnt work.

unless there is a nonvtec d16a also?..this im not sure of.

Yes it's stamp just D16A no number after the 'A'. and i dont know what car it came from. I got the motor from some kid. We've search on D series forum and people are saying its a 89-91 sohc integra or maybe even a sohc ZC labeled as d16A because its sohc.

you have to realize we are talking about D16A and not D16A6 or whatever else. Below is a list of D16 blocks and their cars. Note D16A is NOT listed.

A friend of mine works at Honda and here's what he said:

"I guess we could've just checked part numbers.. which i just did.
The d16a water pump is not the same part number as the the d16z6 (which is obviously the civic si or ex). But the one from the LX and DX (92-95) is the same as the d16a (from 88-91 civic si).
So my belief is that the D16a block you have is the same as the usdm d16a6. So get this part# 19200-p01-004 "

Strange according to these guys they say that a D16A=D16Z6

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1466506

This is untrue according to what I found in mine. I found P2P pistons in mine. Which are d16y8 pistons. Furthermore, as I mentioned earlier, I bought some z6 head bolts and they did not fit. According to the above post the guy used d16y8 timing belt and water pump. Then they went on to say it is the same as a Z6...

I guess i'll have to find out if Y8 water pumps are the same as Z6's.

If your car is non vtec, obd2 then your d16a is the jdm replacement for the d16y7- about 122hp.
The jdm version of d16a6 is the sohc zc
And i believe the d16z6 is replaced by the jdm d15b. ( i could be wrong, and maybe its the replacement for the b2, but i doubt theyd replace a non vtec engine with vtec)

The d16a is just a jdm ZC only difference i know of is it might have a slightly different compression ratio.
