Default crank balancing...

yes i've searched and found 19 topics on it...

but just thought i'd ask some experts on here to see if its even necessary...and what they think about it...cause paying $180 to $200 on something that honda had done already is i think pointless...

so why is everyone balancing there cranks...and i want to know if any material if any was removed due to the crank being out of balanced...shine me in...

I am sure that balancing the entire rotating assembly would be the only thing worth it. Either that or a 5 main block girdle. Think about it, you balance just the crank...but then you attach rods, pistons, and all the other small parts on the both of those two pieces and right there you have the probabilty of something being out of balance all over again.

will i should of said that assuming pistons and rods etc are balanced all weigh the same...should a crank balance be done...

like i said honda did balance the crank before they throw it in the motor...and say you have a girdle like the one off a gsr or type r put on...

i'd say forget the wasted $200 buck on the crank balance rite...or am i just bs'n and go for the crank balancing...

i know it wouldn't hurt much but my wallet might feel the pain...

it really doesn't matter unless you plan on the revs being very high

naw plan on setting the rev limiter to 8600 rpm...probably only going to hit that maybe once a week or less...i don't race or street race at all...i'm just building it for the power...you know getting on the freeway...and when i need it like when some fool rolls next to me and gets on my nerves happens like once or twice a week...i'll like show him wassup...built lsvtec in your face...and then give him the hazards and laugh at him...
