Default motor mounts??

Does anybody make aftermarket motor mounts for the crx that still has the d in it? I appreciate all responses.

there are a couple places that make motor mount inserts. its kinda like a urethane gap filler that you can probably find on jegs.com, but a better and probably cheaper way is to fill your mounts with 3m window weld. if you search youll find lots of people doing it. window weld is kinda expensive, but in my opinion, its one of the best mods i did, and it sounds like it is cheaper and definitely more effective than the inserts.

Wasn't there an article a while back on making your own poly mounts.

Just an idea.

for about $40 in window weld, you can fill all your mounts. a lot cheaper than the $275 kit, and just as effective.

the $275 mounts would be a lot cleaner though.. and take less time. it takes about 2 full days for the window weld to dry.

..except when you break a motor mount. Never done it myself but i've heard of it happening.

Try the prothane inserts. I've heard pretty good things about those.

well. i have poly inserts now, and they are great. i have no complaint at all for em. however, i trashed a front trans mount....literally tore the mount in half. dont ask me how cuz i have no clue. Iwas just looking for something cleaner than the stock ones. if anybody knows any companies that show love for the d-series let me know.

I may however fab some mounts of my own....

could you define break? as in structural failure of the mount? degredation of the rubber filler? something other than that?

ive been running filled mounts for almost 2 years now, and there is no sign of weakness developing in the mounts. The only side effect of filling them that i have noticed are increased vibration in the car, which undoubtedly cause more stress on the mounts themselves, but i think you are underestimating the strength of the stock mounts. i do a lot of research before i make a modification to my car, and i never once came across any issue regarding filling your mounts and premature failure.. if you have links i would be happy to read them.

Alright I found some D series mounts made by Enjo at JCWhitney.com, only thing is they are listed for 94-97 del sol, but thats still a d16 so I hope that helps a little.

Heres the link:

i did this too broke the strap where it hooks on the top around the rubber. Also broke the clutch rod. IT happened because the car is really low and hit the ground with the trans going in or out of a parking lot. good thing it was my roomates car and i replaced it before he came home.. mine is not so low and had a b so theres no mount there.
