Default E brake giving me crap :-|

been having some trouble with my e-brake. gotten worse recently.

when i got my car the e-brake wasnt very..how sohuld i say it..strong. id have to lift it AAALLL the way up for it to keep my car from moving on a hill. Also if i want to use my ebrake for a quick stop (or drift for fun, oh my) the wheels keep spining, like the e brake did nothing at all. It worked once, but that was it

2nd problem is that my ebrake light it coming on and then going away suddently. it comes and goes depending on my acceleration, bumps and rocking of the car (shifting) or engaging and disengaging it really fast till it goes away or i get frustrated.

Try tightening that:

Then check that the wire going to your e-brake isn't touching any other grounds like the chassis or is loose in general.

Good luck!

Why not just tug your drums off and adjust the shoes?

If you have rear discs just ignore me

Yeah, you can try adjusting from under the center console at the base of the lever, but i'm sure it wont help much.

With me, my cable was seized and gummed up.

with age the cables tend to become over stretched. I'm having the same problem you are and ended up buying a new set of cables.
