Default Weird knocking noise from engine bay....

just recently there has been a loud annoying noise coming from my engine bay that you can hear from outside the car duringidle.. i had one of the mechanics at my work take a listen to it and he said it was coming from my tranny... i believe he said it was a thrust bearing?? i may be wrong but does anyones elses cafr make a noise from their tranny at idle? could this screw up my tranny?

Yea i was told that its gonna cost up too 1500 to fix it so i bought another used tranny. Well they told me that all it can do is if you keep driving on it and try to fix it in the future then the noise is not gonna go away.

Is it just during idle and not during driving? Also does it stop or keep going when you push in the clutch?

The same thing happened to a friend of mine. When he pulled the clutch to change the bearing, he found out that the real problem was that some of the bolts in his flywheel had backed out. Have you chenged your clutch and flywheel in your car?
