Honestly if you have a chipped ECU you can leave out the VAFC unless you're going to use it strictly as a monitoring system ONLY. And by that I mean throttle/RPM's and such and even then it's more for show but I mean if you already have it might as well use it, I just wouldn't tune with it at all if you have yourself a nice ECU.

wow is correct...however to help you out a little bit, if i HAD to choose between the two i would take the chip and smash it with a hammer cause its worthless. then i would hook up the vafc

"Spoon" chips are crap. (as well as "Mugen", "J's Racing" or any other name chip that supposedly makes your car work better without actually touching it)

what are your mods that would make you want to chip your ECU?
If you have cams or headwork, then have the car tuned. If you have bolt ons then stick with the OEM ECU, the maps in it are more than fine for your setup.

VAFC = paperweight

the reson for the first response is that this has been covered many times. A few times in the sticky at the top of the page as well.

Correct. I would put the ecu in and go get a dyno tune, cause the chip you have now will cost you power.
