Default IPOD w/ stock radio [em1]

Yo guys i was wondering if any of you have hooked up an ipod to your stock 99-00 civic SI radio. Im in desperate need of a radio and a friend says he has an SI radio he would sell cheap.
Now ive seen the FM tuners that i know will work for sure, but im thinking its not going to sound very good. And ive also seen these cables that connect the ipod through an aux port, but im not sure if this radio has an aux port on it.
So have any of you guys dealt with this? What was your solution?
Thanks.

The FM transmitters get a little fuzzy sometimes. For the best sound get a deck that has an ipod hookup and just control the ipod through your deck.

If the HU you are looking at has a CD changer port, as I believe all Honda/Acura HUs from about 94 had then yes you can get an adapter for that port, from cheap units that have the Honda plug on one end and a set of femal RCAS on the other, [AUX adapter] to the more expensive, but better, Ipod specific adapter, Honda plug on one end and Ipod docking port plug on the other end. 94

The smaller 14-pin plug to the left of the main power/speaker connector is the changer port...

However, did some more reading and you can get by with this cheaper with a plain old Aux-Input adapter, since the one in the link 2 posts up won't control the iPod through the deck anyway (you still need to press buttons on the iPod)...

This one will work just as well, and it's almost half the price. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piehon98aux.html

I would go with the first one, the cheaper one leaves you with a set of RCA inputs you will also need a RCA to docking port connector, [not so cheap] the RCA to mini phono jack is much cheaper but you lose SQ. 94

i'm looking to getting one of these... i'm just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference in SQ when using an AUX and a ipod interface.

I have a AUX jack that came standard in my other ride.. but the SQ is sooo bad that I don't even bother with using the ipod/mp3 in that car

Ah...yeah...I goofed...this is the link I meant to post: http://www.autotoys.com/x/prod...10152

Example of my oem head unit.

And the eight pin would be the white circle socket on the far right.

However...this one would allow me to control the iPod thru the head unit.
