passing smog (state Ref) California
Well im aquiring a civic that needs to be smogged by a state ref due to the non-op title it has right now.
Im removing the turbo and replacing the head with a stock gsr header.
I was wondering if i need to remove anything else.
It has a bar'd b18 already so i dont need to worry about the swap. I was wondering if anyone has an idea on how much it'll cost me to have it passed by a state ref. Other then that, is there anything else i should check before i bring it in?
thanks

i'd just call the DMV with the VIN or license plate# and ask what it will take to re-register this car. you might just have to smog it, not necessarily re-bar it. good luck and keep us posted.

no. since its already been certified throgh the ref, you should be able to just take it to a smog station.

Any "Smog Test Only" site is different from a State Ref. Test and Repair stations tend to be the most leneint, smog test only tends to be a little more firmer, and State Ref's, depending upon where you live, could pull out the white glove and give you the full cavity search.

My god people. How do you have so much trouble with the stupid smog testing process? I've NEVER had this many issues that I needed to enlist someone help. Its a damn Honda, they run clean to begin with. Keep things stock or CARB certified and you're set.

What do you mean? Once you pass the ref inspection its good "forever" at this point. Unless they change the laws. Of course if you change engines then its time to head back also.
