ls vtec-b16head?
alright so im still wondering where to spend my money should i build the b16 or not but im now thinking of buy a b18c1 block and building that then put my b16 head on it but will it still have vtec or not? amd i was looking on ebay and i could get one for about 200 and i have close to a thousand to spend so 200 for block and rods and pistons are 800 on ebay would this be smart?
labor will be more than that (i'm assuming you can't do the labor becuase of your question, if im wrong, sorry
). the b16-b18c setup is a poor man's type r. Yes, you will have vtec
just be careful of who you buy a block from. and it won't be an LSVtec since you plan to use a gsr block

Your and idiot there is nothing wrong with LS/VTECs the inherent nature of the problem is the people that build them incorrectly not the nature of the two part coming together. Recheck your facts and get back with us all. QUIT spreading false info!
To the original poster. We had a LS/VTEC in the road race car for 2 years with no problems and won the Championship with it.

Remember that most of the idiots posting on this website are probably 16-17 years old, NOT THAT age has a direct correlation to the quality of posts you make but... it does. Knowing how to speak and write English correctly helps too.
Like Toad said, the reliability of LS/VTEC's depend on the builder. More specifically the precautions the builder takes making it. My LS/VTEC was built in December 2003 and it's still running now just fine...
But since the author of this post was asking about a "Poor Man's Type R" please cslegacy give us a little more than information besides "It goes nuts."
