ZEX 105300 cam VTEC higher or lower?
since this cam has a higher profile than stock, would i benefit from raising the vtec to keep it in the low profile longer and make more power, or lower the vtec so i can jump into the high cam profile sooner?..

Then leave the VTEC point where it is. When you decide to properly dyno-tune the setup, you'll discover better driveability and greater power output. An aggressive cam is not a "drop-in" item.

I agree, a cam isn't something you can just throw on, ask someone the magic setting, and BAM, instant Gains.
