my buddy has a h22a in his 95 accord and its real STOUT....but he swears up and down that a h22a head on the f22 bottomend will be even crazier....im trying to do the swap also....

go read the prelude FAQ's and you'll find a writeup...if you cant figure it out from prelittlelude's thread then you probably shouldnt attempt it on your own (all you need is tom's thread and a shop manual)

There will be more stroke with this setup, however you lose bore, compression, and rev range over a complete h22 unless you do additional work.

Those threads are also in the Accord FAQ. But I agree with you that everything you need to know (besides torque specs and such) are all in the existing threads.

An H22 head on a F22 bottom end, with no other modifications, is good for turbo setups. So unless you're planning other modifications (bored over, H22 pistons, cams, etc.) or going turbo, I would still rather do a complete H22 swap.

go for the g23!!! it's basically a budget h22. of course, you're not going to get the same results, but its a pretty legit way to get more power, plus that dohc vtec sensation. i'm doing my best to piece one together myself, and as soon as i do, i'm going to do a complete step by step for all the lazy bumblefucks like myself who don't like reading, searching, etc. (but i did have to read/search my *** off, so you guys had better be grateful). btw, anyone know where i can get an h22 rear water pipe?

oh and as far as the tranny goes, you can use your stock tranny, but the h22 i've heard shaves off .7 or .07 in the quarter mile, but screws your gas mileage and throws off your speedometer by a few.

Hi... just need your advise.
I am having Accord 91 Manual and now swapped with JDM H22A LSD manual tranny. The problem is, the offset of dryshaft to its wheels is huge. What is the replacement model (or code) for the tranny (LSD if possible) so that to solve the offstted.
Thanks

I just going to do this last year but after tons of researching I decided H22 complete would be a lot more reliable.

That's funny..I got a 91 accord 5 speed and I need a new set up;I was thinking about throwin' the H22 and lsd tranny in it, thought the lsd would be better than the stock 5 speed. What about the R18A1 and tranny? different bolt pattern but
can it fit as easy as the H22 setup?I found it to cost just as much if not cheaper.

granted you do retain the f22's long stroke with this setup, it's not necessarily a bad thing...the longer stroke gives great low end power and actually a more usable power band...if you plan on going for an all motor setup, higher compression pistons are available for the f22...vtec will need to engage much earlier than it would on the h22 so that the motor can efficiently breathe...how do you think the Se-R's are so powerful without nearly the revability of an h22 and longer strokes than the f22...
