Default new to car modifing help plz =P pics added

I know almost none or very little knowledge about cars, but would like to learn

i have a 2000 honda civic ex, all stock.

i want to lower my car about maybe 2 inches.
what is the best way to do this? what suspensions should i get?
will i beable to do this myself or should i take it to a shop?
i was reading on some sites that if you lower your car you need to change your chambers to. also get a 4 wheel allinment?

i think ima try to drop it about 2 inches when i decide to get my new rims,
also getting exhaust, si spoiler, intake, and front lip, sound good?
open to other ideas.

thanks

edit: pics

2 inch drop it fine for stock shock IMO, you may not like the ride... but there are other shock choices that are fine with stock shocks and are comfy.

If you want to get 2" or more, you'll need new struts/shocks or full coilovers whichever you prefer.

Suspension is very easy to do by yourself. Alignments are important and should be done at a shop as it is inexpensive.

Spend a few months time reading on here before you do anything.

I've spent over two years reading and only just this past month have I started ordering parts. I'm very happy with that and I'm excited about it. It's kind of like wating until you get married to have sex.

If you're going to post pics looking for help on deciding mods, you should start a new topic in the appearance and cosmetic forum once you get a few more posts in.

Tein s techs for a mild drop with stock shocks, and some kind of wheel.

If I tell you to get Rota's I'll get flamed.

I think for new members the search feature should be a manditory pop-up until a certain number of posts have been made.

I got a DX hatch though, expletive power windows. If I want em I'll add em.

Not really a bother. I don't even consider it an inconveinience.

i want to lower my car about maybe 2 inches.-tein spring cheap and ride good.

will i beable to do this myself or should i take it to a shop? it isnt hard you can find directions on HT or just ask a buddy that knows how to come over and HELP not do it for you
i was reading on some sites that if you lower your car you need to change your chambers to. also get a 4 wheel allinment? always get an alignment and a 2'' drop isnt ganna camber ur tires super bad ull be ok

rims just start off with some rota's or cheap used wheel there so many wheels u have to get wat u like.

the SI wing and front lip u can find used or just get from honda... and do u plan on a motor swap in the future? if soo... leave ur motor alone for the time being.

Looks clean man. As far as suspension it really depends on what you plan on doing with it. Drag, autoX, daily driver??

What exhaust do you plan on getting and what size rims? I would go 16" at the most, prefer 15" my self.

so yah, im still in high school so i kinda have a low budget.

i just want my car to look nice, not much of a hardcore street racer, just maybe like a fun race with some friends every here and there. so it doesnt need to be super fast, so i probablly wont get an engine swap for quite a while.

so i was lookin around the internet....

these look like some good springs? and a fairly decent price?
Code:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEIN-S-TECH-LOWERING-SPRING-96-00-HONDA-CIVIC-D16Y-B16A_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33582QQihZ020QQitemZ300084059768QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
as for rims.... i like the ones with the outer white and inside black such as these ones:
so could someone give me some names/brands of rims that look like these ones that are cheap?

as for exhaust... not really sure, open to ideas.... just need it to be like any other civic that drives by... not TOO loud, looks nice and sounds nice.

The Tein springs are pretty good. Get them and some Tokico Illuminas and you'll be fine. (check link below)

As far as rims if you are staying with a pretty stock engine I can't stress enough to NOT go higher than 16". Your car will feel so sluggish if you do. Check on here in the sponsors forum. They usually have good deals. Got a set of Bronze Konig Heliums with tires for $650 shipped from DrFlicker.

Here is the link to the wheels/tires/suspension forum: https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum/48

As far as mods I wouldn't even mess with a intake on a D series. I couldn't tell any difference. Just buy some rims, suspension, exhaust setup if your set on it and save up for a swap/turbo

i guess im just jealous of my friend having vtec and my other friend having a fully loaded jetta...but my hatch still looks the best.

tein s techs are designed for stock shocks. They will be fine.

If you want to go a little lower on your stockers, H&R sports would be fine too.

For cash, you're in high school bro, get a job and take advantage of that free rent. Save 3-400 dollars a month and you'll be surprised how fast that adds up.
