Default Does rasp mean a less deep tone?

Ive seen alota guys say they dont like rasp, they're lookin for a deep tone. Well I do alota highway driving and the deep tone has worn out its welcome! Can I make my exhaust raspy and get rid of the deep tone? If so, what can I do to make it raspy? I have a 96LS with an APC muffler (I know..... I know) It was on there when I got it. Any help would be great! Thanks guys!

Rasp to me is a bad exhaust on a poopy engine. When you see people rolling buy in thier poopy car w/ some huge cannon and u here the car making a (hard to put into words) I guess u could say a sound like gargling sound with out the deep tone.

new muffler. if u really want to go midas its about 60 bucks for a new muffler and another 60 maybe for labor, just get the quietest midas brand muffler and u should notice a big change in the sound.

What does your setup consist of? You could try welding in a new resonator and/or getting a chambered muffler.
If you still don't like it, IMO, just put your stock exhaust back on.

From what i have seen and heard, raspiness is caused by stock pipingand a big cannister. If ur not running stock piping then you should change that, but it might just be cheaper to change out your can for another one from pepboys or autozone

In my opinion, i would not have raspy noise, especially in long drives, just like the deep tone ur gonna get tired of it (since its more annoying). My suggestion is to run back to stock if u drive far. Unless u like making noise, then by all means change ur exhaust.
