If the head is staying on, then it's a long block. Head off, deck to oil pan is short block.
I have a D series short block setting in a big rubber container. I've carried it back and forth between one garage and another several times. Not light, but it didn't break my back. Long block, I don't think so. I can carry one with another guy, but I can't muster a complete long block.
If it's a long block, just pop the head off, carry it up in two parts.

It took me and a buddy to lift my complete y8 and move it. But I put my z6 short block on my workbench myself. Just take a small rest between flights. There is something I'm forgeting... Oh yeah, QUIT BEING A PUSS AND MAN UP!

lol... It's a Honda engine.... we're not talking about cast iron here. In a pinch, you can lift a long block by yourself. Just buy it, and carry it. If it's too big, take stuff off and make smaller trips.
