d16a6 to d15b7 swap
Hey i searched the threads and cant find any info ! i need a bit of help from you guys !! my buddy blew his motor in his 1990 civic Si wich has a d16a6 , he has a spare d15b7 from a 1992 Civic Dx . Do you guys think i would run into problems doing this swap ? and could i keep the stock Si ecu to run the d15b7 ? Thanks alot and hope someon will take the time to reply !

As long as you put everything off the A6 on the B7 it'll be fine and the ECU will work. You'll have to use the wiring harness, dizzy, injectors, alternator, etc... off the A6.

So for what i understand .. i could use the intake manifold from the d16a6 and distributor and wiring harness and thats it ! right ?

I have a 90 civic si with a d16a6 (obd0), the bottom end went in it so i figured i do a swap with a d15b7 (obd1) i had laying in my garage. i have heard that i dont need to change wireing or ecu if i just swap the head from the d16a6 onto the d15b7 block, so i went and bought a new head gasket and timing belt for a (d16a6) to do the swap. than i later relized while searching around the internet that all i have to do is take the intake manifold and distributor off of the d16a6 and put it on the d15b7 head and block and everything will be plug and play ? i need some help i have a week to get the motor back in and running any advice on what i should do ? would be greatly appreciated thanks

so all you have to do is switch the intake manifold and distributor and drop the motor back in and plug everything back in and should work ? im doing the same swap my d16a6 blew up and i had a spare d15b7 laying around i have a week to get this done and need some info ? would be greatly appreciated
Swap over intake manifold, distributor. You'll also need to swap over the mount from the block in the drivers side to the b7. The fan switch will also have to be wired from the back of the block to the thermostat housing on the b7.
Just swap the intake manifold and whatever wiring you need to. You shouldn't change the cam gear, the purpose for swapping that gear on a mini-me swap is to keep everything in time when swapping a newer (96-00) head onto a 95 or older block.
