Default anybody here has a Clifford G4 system on their R?

well i just got back from a field job in Kansas and left my R sitting for 2 wks and my battery died...actually i told my g/f to start the car on the wkend for me but she said the battery died so it died within a wk and it is an old battery and was freezing cold here also...anyway, tried jump starting the car and all the lights and radio works but for some odd reason, my LED light for my alarm doesn't light up so that means there's no power to the alarm and i can't even start the car...the car was on valet mode while it was sitting before the battery died so now i don't know what to do...went out to get a new battery and still the same...checked the fuses for the alarm and all was good so i don't know why its this way...this is not the first time that the car sits and the battery died on me...but last time all i did was took the battery out and recharged it and everything works fine afterwards...hopefully some of you guyz would know the problem...sux with no R to drive

You're probably not going to get too much response on this one unfortunately. Most guys don't want to disclose alarm systems. ~~bad karma for theft

Sucks that nobody will disclose any help our of sheer fear even when it's to help another R owner out...

I've often wondered this same thing too, the most i've ever had my battery out of the car was maybe 6 hours and fortunately it was fine (left it in vallet mode too)... I need to disable blackjax, it worries me that a few wires (that i didn't install) can control the fate of my car running......

Yeah I disclosed my security, whooptie doo.

pm me and i will show you how to start the car if indeed your alarm is bad and your battery is good with all other parts of the car.. lights etc....

and yes leaving the car in valet mode (solid red/blue light on) will drain your battery

and why did you leave your car in valet mode? no reason to do that. give the code to the girl friend if the car needs to be moved or remove the wire for the siren if you dont want it chirping in the garage, but dont leave it not working at all. :with all the thefts still people want things to be easy in life or take short cuts with their cars:

I had the same kind of symptoms in a past car with that same alarm. After days of searching and testing with a multimeter I and a few friends discovered the alarm brain had fried out. Whether that was a result of the jump or not I don't know.

With ALOT of help. We finally figured out that if the brain was cut out we could bypass/eliminate the kill switch. There is a 4 prong connector(white) from the brain that is tapped into the ignition. Find that connector cut the brain out of it and make a loop with the wires that current can flow thru(basically revert back to stock) and that will bypass the system and enable you to start your car. Of course your alarm will be useless and it will be time to look for a new one. From talking to my local Cliffard dealer about it, the brains are known to fry.

Hope that helps. GL.
