LOL!....To BETTER answer the op's question, I heard that higher compression usually means better gas mileage b/c it burns the gas more efficiently also if you get a better tune. So what this means is faster car and better, if not the same mpg! Also breather mods like I/H/E will help. These are some things I have heard and read but not tried myself.

well when you add compression you normally need to add fuel.. if you raise compression you will need to run better fuel..
the reason for my smart *** answer is cause he posted a very vague question and from the information he gave me thats about all i could say..
just learn to keep your foot off the floor and you will get better gas mileage..

tune up = more efficient engine = better mpg
lighter car = easier acceleration = better mpg
tuning = better fuel maps = better mpg
keeping your right foot away from the firewall = better mpg
there are many many ways to get better mpg, what are you considering bad mpg and what is our setup?

If you have a wideband and something to tune with you can lean out your part throttle maps a bit, and advance your part throttle IGN timing. There are some good posts on PGMFI.org on this subject try there.
