Default Need help!!! Won't Start!!

My 88 Rex Si won't start!

A while ago,I had the rotor fall off and I got it going again!
This last time it wouldn't start..I check the rotor ...and sure enough it was off.
Thinking it was going to be another easy fix...I install it w/ some locktight..close it up...and it still won't start!!
It turns over and seems like it is about to get going and backfires a bit.

Things that I have done:
1. Fuel pump is priming...I can hear it....I got fuel going out into the rail.
2. New Cap,rotor and plugs checked the gaps, all good.
3. Rotor Spins
4. I got spark ..but it seems a bit weak. I checked it by putting a screwdriver in the plug wires and grounding it... Should I check this a diffrent way?
5. I unscrewed and turned the Distributer to see if it would help any...same thing.

What else should I check?...am I doing things wrong or missing something?

Thanks in advance!

1342. #1 is (if memory serves correctly) bottom left when directly facing dizzy cap, rotating clockwise.

You guys were right!
The timing was way off!
When the rotor fell off I put it back on, not realizing that the Distributor rotor shaft had two holes...I finally realised it when I took off the rotor again ....turned the motor and aligned the back side of the shaft..mounted the rotor...and it started on the very first try!! It was off a whole 180 degrees.

Do all distributer shafts have two holes for the rotor? ...seems wierd to me?
