Default *ABS* Light On

It's not continuous. It doesn't stay on continuously like a CEL. But when I stop at a stop light it triggers and then stays on until the car is shut off. I haven't touched the braking system at all but I did have Eibach Pro kit installed about 2-3 months ago. The light only started coming on a couple days ago though. Haven't hit any serious potholes or anything like that. I know my regular braking system will function normally, but I still wanna figure out what's up!

Any thoughts on what could have triggered the light??

Should I expect the dealer to put the blame on the Springs I had put in??

Any help is appreciated! Thanx

How would the springs affect the ABS system?

Never came on before. I've had the springs on for months and driven at least 7K miles on them!

When the ABS light stays on it is because of a problem. I have been activating my ABS like a champ for the pat couple weeks with this 5 feet of snow..... and it hasnt stayed on for any extended period of time.

No snow down here. Obviously . And i haven't had to slam on my brakes for any reason so i'm all out of assumptions. And I figured if it was a faulty install then the light would have come on much sooner than 3 months after the Eibach springs installation.

I dont know alot about the ABS stuff.......but just a thought. There is an ABS Sensor, right? Now work with me here. If there is a sensor then there is wiring for the sensor, I wonder if after the car was lowered that actual wiring has rubbed on something and possibly broken etc. If you can see if you can peek around at all the wiring if any there is down there. Also I assume you have normal brake feel etc? If not check fluid too.

Yeah right. I hope they don't try to put a move on me. I'll make them PROVE it to me. Whatever "supposedly" caused the ABS to malfunction. They'll have to show me a broken/pinched wire or something before I accept the springs had anything to do with it. Burden of proof rests with the dealer.

I'll check. Normal brakes work just fine.

Dont you have to remove the abs wire while installing springs maybe it came a little loose or something who knows check your work again.

Just check the connectors, if they are all plugged in let the joy of having a warranty take over and let the dealership handle it.

It's not my work. I had someone else install them.

I hope it's that simple.

Disconnect battery for abut 5-10 mins. Reconnect start it up let it idle for 15 mins with nothing on, ie radio, A/C....

if problem persists bring it in for service

Fluid level is normal. And I already disconnected the battery when I put my new de-fouler in the day before the light started coming on. Disconnected for about 5 minutes and I let the car idle for exactly 15 minutes....no A/C or anything on.

Then it should be the ABS Sensor. The same problem happened to me when I put my springs in. The ABS Sensor could have been stretched out or something. Mine was stretched and the ABS light was on right away. Then I got someone at Honda to check what is was with the Honda OBD2 reader. And it said it was the front right sensor. So I replaced it and no more ABS lgith for me. And the sensor only cost $15 and it was about a 5 minute thing to put in.

UPDATE!! - Problem solved. Took the car to the dealer and they said the actual sensor had come loose and was rubbing against some wiring triggering the light.

They ordered a new part and they're gonna put it in next week.....FREE!

Looks like I lucked out after all for a change.

Thanx for the help peoples!
