before any of you say use that search button let me say this
i read sixteen threads (i believe thats how many were there) front to back trying to learn about them
what i got from reading all of them is that they help with oil pressure
not much more
in some they talked a little about what they do but not directly enough to make sense to someone who has a very little clue to what they acutally do
i have been thinking about them becasue the oil pressure factor
i have had my check engine light pop up from hard cornering from time to time due to low presure
i read the manual and it says when this happens turn the car off than start it back up and if the light is off pressure has returned to normal
i bought a oil temp gauge and pressure gauge so i can monitor it now but am looking into a catch can and starting to use smaller oil filters
anyway help explaining how these work and how to install one would be a great help
also i was reading about baffled and filtered? what do those mean? i take it filtered has that filter on the top but what is the point of that?

first off, if you get low oil during turning.......YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH OIL IN YOUR CAR, btw what kind of corning are you doing? i'm fine hitting high speed corners at the track and no loss of pressure. extending low pressure oil can lead to losing a bearing and messing up your engine
so add an extra quart or so, many road racing preludes do this. another option is a baffled oil pan ($$$)
but an oil catch can isn't something that would affect your problem at all. for the most part (from my understanding) a catch can just catches excess oil from going into the IM or other parts that don't need oil.

i read every thread and did not get much from them

A catchcan is used for these two things
1. To filter out oil that is from blowby
2. To relieve pressure from the crankcase and head.
I think personally it is much more needed in a boosted application where temps are higher and pressure is greatly increased. Usually most people weld two fittings into the front of the valve cover to fit hoses on to go to the catch can. Here is a very informative thread that should answer all your questions https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935

now all i have to ask is does someone have a writeup for a h series</TD></TR></TABLE>
all you do is go to home depot. grab a breather filter for air compressors. throw some wire gauze in there. get two fittings and cut the hose off where you need to install it.

you can kinda see it in the top right

not ncessarily. You can have loads of oil, and zero oil pressure for the the light to come on...

because i like to learn and ask about what i buy BEFORE i buy something
its never smart to just buy something without learning about it first

why? if you have ever seen most catch cans, they are just basically that. maybe not the prettiest but it works and was only 15 bux. i don't see the use in spending more if the gains aren't going to be there

its to my advantage i feel to have one that is not only fifteen dollars
i rev the living **** out of my car
typically hit over one sixty once a day
and top it out at least once every two weeks
also from that thread i was given to read they talked about specific pressures in the lines being maintained and not making the lines longer than fifteen inches because any longer and it begins producing a pressure that will suck the oil out of your engine into the can
im not cheaping out on this upgrade because i never have on anything else plus i want it to look asthetically pleasing at the same time
what i meant to ask is i would like it if someone could post a picture or two showing where the lines connect to on the engine from the oil catch can or something like that
something straight forward

Sounds like you need to read up on how the PCV system works before you install a catch can so you understand why you're hooking it up. Look up threads by user name 'dasher' under recent and archived and you'll find more info than you even could imagine.
