Having said the above, I am probably going to look at an early 90's Talon. I unfortunately wont have the cash to buy anything more expensive.

 

Did you sell your car? I'm sure you could've asked for more considering there was another 97R in autotrader with higher miles and he asked for about 1k more. Too bad I'm out of a job, otherwise I was looking into getting a used R, and MarkhamR's car sounds like a good buy (but I'm looking for a stock one <edit> n/m it's only got intake and exhaust).

Why do all the sellers list this... like it's a good thing?

 

I dont list it with mine because I can't. BUT, it is a good thing. Don't forget that MOST people (yes, even those buying Rs) feel more confident buying a used vehicle that hasnt been abused. Although we can deny it as much as we want, our cars do undergo extra wear and tear when autocrossed or driven on the road course. We can do just as much damage driving hard on the street, but if it has been raced, it is guaranteed to have that extra wear.

 

I agree, I'd rather buy an R that is bone stock, and not been tracked. Not saying that a car cannot be "well maintained" and tracked also. Just that there is more wear and tear on a tracked car.. Maintenance is key..

This is exactly why I put "never tracked or auto x'd." In a lot of ways, I wish I had done either or both, because from all I hear, you get the most out of the car from doing so. However, I didnt and I was hoping that it might be a plus for someone who is concerned about "wear and tear".

Not quite. Last time I checked, conversion is around 0.65, so it is around 17.55k.
