Default Short Ram or Cold Air?

Hello, I am thinking of purchasing a new intake system to replace my stock whatever it is. This will be my very first upgrade on my 91 civic sedan dx. The only question is, which should I buy? Also, any recommendations?

Thanks guys!

injen sells a cover that you put over your cone airfilter and it is water resistante works quite well my buddy purchased one and we put it under the sink and the water jsut beaded right off it
and cold air will give you like a couple more horses short ram might even lose some depends on the make

just pic up an ebay intake if you on a budget or go for injen if you like

your civic year so it will fit in your engine bay. they are made to form around how your body in the engine bay is.

you only have to worry if there are puddles deep enough that will have the filter submerged..and also you get a bypass valve so dont have to worry about water anyway

Alright, so bypass and that watercover thing... Will that decrease performance though, since the air has to pass through that cover? Last question I swear!

Alright I lied, I went looking around ebay motors.. and I looked up superchargers for the hell of it. (I really like their sound!) And well... they are rediculously cheap. Now, I dont imagine you would get a massive increase in HP from one of these.. but it looks like you also attach it to where you would have the intake?

Here is an example of one... Looks like a quick fix for hp. Opinions?

You don't need a filter protector for a short ram because it is not sitting by your wheel well..The only performance you'll get from a basic intake is a cool hissing sound

^^
I don't even know what to say to this??
DO NOT buy that sir..
Stick with the intake for awhile until you read up a little more about forced induction, and other perfromance parts.
If you want to know why i think this is a waste of money, please PM me

i have an aem cold air that i have been running with some pep-boys cone without a bypass valve or anything alone those lines in the snow for the past month with no problem... because i was lazy

but i did just change it back to cold air for my safety.

i dont know about all brands but my aem one is easy to go between cold air and short ram because the cold air just has a coupler before it turns downward by the battery... or maybe that was a modification the previous owner made... don't kow

I dont understand how a pipe can differ one from another, i mean aem 3 inch pipe compared to a chrome piece of 3 inch pipe. I would say its all the same thing, I have a ractive, i got it for free and it works and looks good

i dont know either... but i assume that different company's use different material and some sort of insulation like stuff, making some companies air intakes keep the air colder then others while its going through the pipping...

could be 100% wrong

Please tell me you're joking.

P.S. Superchargers are not rediculously cheap.
