Default Breaking Axles?

My friend always tells me his stories of snapping axles at the track with his EM1. Is this possible with stock power, or slightly modded power such as my car?

I think only time will tell. Right now the car is so new. I would hope that the axles would be able to support some extra power.

I'm sure they are the same basic deal as the rsx, and I did 125 passes on my stock axles on sticky street tires, with best of 2.0 60 fts with no problems. Even the clutch was still good. Differential destroyed the whole tranny 2 passes after my 13.7 run, but axles and clutch were good.
I was about 40whp better than stock.

Wow. That's not too good. Well I guess 125 passes it quite alot for a tranny anyway.

One way to tell if you are over stressing your stock axles is to draw 2 short lines, exactly in line with each other, at both ends of the axle. After you go to the strip, look at the lines, and if they don't line up anymore, you have twisted the axle. Over time this will cause failure. I find it very unlikely on a moderately modified 2wd car with street tires that this will occur. You may have to worry if you are pushing much more power or using slicks, but that is just common sense.

The stock diff is crap.
Look at all of the open area. All the teeth are gone on the bottom, and most on the spider gears. The quaife next to it is billet, and visibly beefier.
It sucked, and was expensive, but you gotta pay to play.
