Different looking rear tail lights at night.
In a Sport Compact magazine a saw a Type R with different looking tail lights. The rear side markers and the turn signals which are next to the markers were on and the brake lights were off. So when the lights were on only the outer lights were on. Normally the Integra has the rear side markers on, turn signals off and the brake lights on. Now if I wanted to change mine to the way Sport Compact did theirs how would I do it? Is there a way to keep the turn signal lit while the lights are on and have the turn signal flash when use your signal? And would there be a way to keep the brake lights off and still have the brake lights come on when the brake is pressed?
I did a similar thing on my car.
I made the side markers blinkers and mad the blinkers a running/brake light
So the two blocks are both running/brake lights and the side markers just come on when the blinkers go on.
The way i did it gets a little messy but it is reversable.
Go to the junk yard and get some spare sockets, i think you need 2 1157's and 2 194 sockets.
Then hit up radio shack and get some wire and those 3m wire tappers.
Then you just tail a new socket of the leads you need and take the bulbs out of the leads you used and put them in the new socket. Sorta like pigtilling off the stock wiring..this way you dont cut anything.
I dont know if i explained it great but its really easy and your not hacking you stock wiring up.
It all depends on what you want to do, you just have to get the right socket for it.
Oh and a voltmeter helps big time

.....that won't work with the ukdm tails or 97 and earlier tails though will it?
i would think so because its all in the wiring and not in the lens itself... I dont think it will look as cool... but i could be wrong..
Your picture didn't show up. Do I have to have a web page to post a picture?
Once you have it on a web server somewhere, get the URL. Then post it by typing in your post:
[ IMG ]
and then the URL
and then
[ /IMG ]
but leave out any spaces between the brackets. (I had to include them in my post to prevent it from thinking I wanted to insert a photo.)
If you use the "image" button it will type the stuff in the brackets for you.
