Question Re: Road slick sizing
1. Sorry for the large images. Forgot to resize!
Hey guys, I have access to a few sets of slicks that I wouldn't mind trying out. A local tire recycler is friends with a road racer of some sort, who drops off his used slicks after a lapping day.
I'm not sure he knows what size the tires are, but he said low-profile 15". The exact numbers he gave me was:
26/9/15
He said the first number was NOT the height. If it is, then the tires are not low pro, and are quite massive. He suggested that the first number is the compound. That would be news to me.
So really he hasn't given me all the information. He said the tires were no taller than a 205/50/15 but I'm not sure if he's sure himself.
Here's how one of my 14" slicks are marked:
