heads up on those who had their R'S STOLEN...especially in cali
yes i know what this implies, but if we don't ask questions, make inquiries and look out for eachother, the cycle continues. besides, if anyone is legit, they have nothing to hide or be threatened by. hope this seller with no history on ebay isn't what i think

Maybe you should ask him about the number plate on the armrest and see if he will give you the number on it??? Might be with a try to trip him up?

I asked "So what number Type R did you steal that from? Also, do you have the engine for sale as well?"
As you can see, I don't like beating around the bush. I'm awaiting his response.

Some people like myself buy cars from the auction. Here is a type r that I bought along with a friend. So why do you think that when you see people selling stuff off a type r or any other car ya think it's stolen. Here is a picture of a type we bought for $2000

civicefhatchback,
Even though you bought that car at an auction, it was a stolen car at one point..right? As in, it was recovered, the ins co totalled it, then it was put up for sale at an auction? So while what you are selling is perfectly legit, it was sourced from a car that was stolen.
Unfortunately, the fact is that a good % of the ITR stuff for sale out there sourced from stolen cars. So it is perfectly understandable that someone would look at you funny if you were selling ITR parts, that normal owners would not sell off their cars.

I dont get it...what if youre harassing a perfectly legit seller, just because he happens to be selling his ITR interior, and he doesnt want to ship a set of seats and door panels?
The accusation before anything else is pretty harsh, IMO...I dont think he's given any sign that its stolen other than not being too descriptive. The fact that he wont ship at least shows that he's not trying to rip the buyer off. This situation sucks and all, but dont you think you're jumping the gun a bit?

it's a tough call. We have no idea who this guys is. He may very well be a legimate seller and if he does respond with an ITR code, then i guess it would be legit. He's never sold anything on E-bay it seems (no ratings) so either he's jast starting out, or it could be hot. j00 won't know till j00 go buy it.
-aoib0t, who doesn't know whether to be suspicious or not.

Do you guys think it is possible to alert EBAY if you think someone "may" selling stolen part thru their website ??

I say, we one of us email and ask to drop by and have a look at the interior to see the condition of it since he has no pics. From there, we should be able to tell alot.

guys..the reason for my posting the link was not to "jump the gun" or point fingers. pls reread my post. all i'm saying is we should all ASK questions. if not, we make it easier for those who are NOT legit to just continue what they're doing. if buyers are more hesitant to buy from uncertain sources, doesn't that already make it that much less attractive to sell stolen goods 'cause no one wants to buy? type r, hybrid, whatever, it doesn't matter. we all can get our **** stolen-anytime. no seller should take offense at QUESTIONS, and if they do, what does that tell you? its just that certain items are always rather questionable because how often do you see someone sell their entire interior?or motor? sure, you have theft recoveries and salvages etc.., but you can see where my point is at. i'd hate to see more peeps get their **** stolen...only to be sold again.
Not all people who sell ITR parts are theives. That much we ALL know. But the fact that there are soo many ITR's being taken and the fact that we all know the parts are being resold, will cast a shadow onto those who are selling legit stuff. As the trite saying goes....it only takes one bad egg to spoil the dozen.
So if someone suspects that a part for sale is possibly stolen, they should STFU until they know for sure? That makes no sense at all. If people remain quiet when they suspect stolen parts are being sold, the people committing the crimes will never pay the consequences. Sure some people who are perfectly innocent will be accused, but people who are guilty of selling stolen parts will also be found out....and that will result in less ITR's being stolen.

I just got my a responce from the guy selling these seats, he responded by saying
i would like to know the badge number myself but it is
missing. i bought the interior that way on ebay a
while back. i got a set of sparcos now and that is the
reason for selling
This guy is a new ebay user..who does he think he's fooling
I asked him for the auction number that he bought the seats from, and what user name he bought them on, because this guy is a new user on ebay.

ITRs are missing...and most ppl out there don't care are they stolen or not, as long as they can get it for cheap...that's why Rs are still missing and more more...If a seller is legit, then should tell where is it come from..not to hide anything.
I think ALL of us ITR owners (current and previous) are on edge right now. There are so many being stolen and vandalized...it's sickening. I guess you non-ITR owners just don't understand. We all have a passion for this car that you can't put your finger on if you never owned one. Believe me, I built a 100% legit Civic hybrid hatch (yes I have all the receipts) and I love that as well...but it's just not the same car that the ITR is. I mean, the ITR is unique, rare, purpose built...special.

100% TRUE
100% TRUE
EXACTLY....VERY WELL SAID

it's never going to stop. It's to hard to punish the guys that are doing this stuff.
