Default Oil in my plugs on 92

Should I replace the gasket, or can I just wipe the plugs/wires off ever few thousand miles? Just wondering what is best, or what will work.

replacing the grommets is cheap and easy, and it can save you some trouble down the road.

the spark plug grommets are a couple bucks a piece, and hondabond I think is about $9.

I would also suggest removing the spark plugs, carefully clean all of the oil out and apply anti-sieze on the threads of the spark plugs, inducing oil to the threads of spark plugs causes them to sieze under heat, I've seen some people snap spark plugs off trying to get them out from siezing up.

I was also told this problem ruins the plug wires too, is this true?

It will shorten the life of the wires that are bathed in oil.

You'll probably want to replace the four large O-ring gaskets for the rocker assembly, the plug tube seals on the valve cover and the rocker assembly gaskets are the only possible sources for leaks.

If you look down the spark plug hole with some light, you will see two seams where the oil could be coming from. If you can clean the area, then run the engine, maybe you can figure out which are leaking (valve cover grommets, or rocker arm o-rings). I've posted a link below, in case you want to try this yourself. Good luck.

I've had oil in my plugs since I bought my car, 4 years now. I have changed the spark plug grommets before and it didn't solve the problem. I had Honda diagnose and claim to have repaired the problem twice, and it still wasnt solved. I think it is the rocker arm o-rings. I have been scared to do that job though, but my car is still getting perfect gas mileage, so I dont know if it is worth it. I get about 1 teaspoon of oil in about a year or so in there.

In my experience a little RTV never hurt anything.

yeah the black rtv works wonders, oil resistant. Oil passes right through the red rtv.

The oil is only in the 2 outside holes. Does this mean anything as far as valve cover grommett or rocker arm rings?

I too only get about a teaspoon ever time I change plugs.

Here's another link, with pictures. It's a lot longer, and they re-set the valves in this one (which should not be necessary). But it does give you a better look at what the job is about. Good luck.

same here, I actually just fixed mine this weekend.
It was the rocker arm o rings.
I;m hoping that fixing it will improve mpg.

The lowers are the bigger job, so you can do the uppers first & hope that's it.

Or better yet...
