whitish film is built up on my spark plug wires, on the part that connects to the spark plug. Car is stalling out at idle. when i give it gas its fine, but when i let off it idles down to about 900 starts bogging an poping and hen it stalls out. any ideas on what to do.

 

The white film probably means that it's running lean. If it's stalling out, then it would be an extreme example and I don't know if that's exactly why it would stall. Details on the car...Mileage/mods, etc? old fuel filter, maybe? Could be a few things I guess.

 

usually if there is a white film on the plug wire that means the plug wire has failed..the reason your car is popping and stalling at idle is because the plug wire wants to arc on the head before it reaches the spark plug..always remember electric spark will always try to find the path of least resistance....change the plug wire that has the white film on it. better yet change them all if you have the money.. keep us posted!!

 

97 obd1 h22a4 mahle pistons eagle rods. 450 dsm injectors and mileage is about 1000 miles on the engine maybe less since i put it together.
