Default Do I even need a catch can?

I have a custom built catch can, and have been experimenting way too much. For just a DD with bolt ons, will a catch can even benifit me? Sure i want to filter out the air, but im concerned with the extra restrictions the air has to deal with.

Right now it setup like this

Blackbox ==> Catch Can===>PCV valve====>IM

and i have a line on the bottom of the can, venting to the air.

If i just get rid of the can, is there really a worry on how much crap goes into the IM?

Also the line that is open on the bottom of the can, since its before the PCV valve, is this just effing up my whole setup (vaccum and such) and just sucking up all the bad ****? Yea i have searched for ever, read every catch can thread there is....but I really wanna know if its Needed on a d16y8 DD?
