toolkit for the car
im getting back into crx's and racing. my next race is the end of next month, and im picking up a crx this weekend (91 si). im not a mechanic, but i try.
SO... im hitting the pawn shops on the way home from work. i need to put together a toolkit. i have an idea what i want, but i was wondering what you guys would consider "essential" for a race day toolkit. im not pulling the motor here folks, just basic repairs.
thanks in advance for the helpfull advice

lol how do you "get back into CRX's" and not know the answer to this ?
lol, kus bustin yer ***** a bit man, its real simple:
you need a 10mm socket and 3/8 drive ratchet.
lol ok ok syke that aint it, this is what I'd rock:
-A set of 8mm-19mm sockets, probably all 3/8's drive except the 19 for gettin of the wheels.
-a set of pliers (needle nose, angled ones, whatever)
- a set of screwdrivers.
-a set of wrenches up to 17mm
if you got the bank, a cheap voltmeter, those things REALLY come in handy ALOT.
and kudos to you bro your a genius, I never thought of pickin up tools from the pawn shop, and Im from the city and they buy stolen sets all day so I can probably get some nice **** for cheapo!

feel free to bust the *****, they are used to it. i "sort of know" what to get, im just tryng to make a list. things like needing multiple 10mm sockets and wrenches vs only needing 1 of the 14mm is kinda what i am thinking. you know how when you buy a set it comes with 40 tools youll never use. where as if they had just given you one more 10mm socket youd be done already. stuff like that is what i am really needing advice on.

ah I see.
hmmmm.....
if you wanna cover your ***, get a few extensions for your ratchet, ummm, some PB blaster for those rusty bolts, a breaker bar.....
10mm sockets are essential, you'll find 90% of your car is held together by them. you'll never need 2 at once, but keep a spare cause you'll need it.
otherwise I'd pick up a set of 6 point sockets, and a set of 12 point ones. sometimes if a bolt is stuck on there a 12pt will strip it and then you got problems.
other than that and what I mentioned already, I'd probably get some jackstands to be safe, a pry bar,, ummm, IDK that should hold you down pretty well for awhile, until you need a specific tool.
you can probably get everything I listed at a pawn shop for around $100 or less I bet
