jack damaged the bottom of my car
hey guys, my accord chassis was damaged by a jack as i was trying to jack uo from the side (sound stupid) since this is the first time i use a jack and i jacked up at a wrong point. and there is almost 15cm crack on the bottom of my car, besides, one part of the driver side carpet is also hunched up. could this be fixed or replaced? i really need professionals help. many thanks.
so where exactly did you put the jack?
Sounds like your floor pan is dented and maybe thats whats cracked? If so, the only way that can be replaced is to cut it out and weld a new panel in there. Depending on the damage, you could just try to patch it.
Check the Accord FAQ for the correct moints to lift a car from.

if jack damaged your car, get a lawyer and sue him
LOL I crack me up
Jokes aside, you should be able to do as suggested; use a board and a small sledge hammer to put the floor board back in it's place, then if the 'seam' is cracked seal it up with silicone sealer.

thank you guys, really appreciate for your help. i checked a related topic in "accord FAQs", however, there are only pics of front and rear, so where is the correct jack point from both side???
Just behind the front wheels and in front of the rears, there should be an arrow pointing to a slab of metal about 4 inches long.

Just behind the front wheels, and just in front of the rear wheels there is a hard plate sticking down. Jack fits on that perfectly. If you still don't know what I mean, I can take a picture tomorrow.
I prefer to use a floor jack that has a larger diameter lift point and use a large piece of rough cut hardwood between the jack and the car. A one or two inch thick x six or eight inch width x eight, ten, or twelve inches in length will distribute the weight enough to get a jack stand under the 'lifting point'.
It distributes the weight better and it's not good to have metal to metal contact when lifting things that can slip. Same with jack stands, I like something between the stand and the car, and something between the stand and the floor as well.
It's also a good idea to remove your jack bar when not jacking. If for some reason the jack should fail, you don't want the handle flying up, especially if you happen to be stepping over it at the same time.
