Default Mickey thompson Vs M&H

Well im currently running hoosier drag radials the DOT version and im not happy with the grip on them, im can only get a best of 2.0 60ft with 440whp on my fwd with a lsd. car weighs 2400lbs.
I was looking into the mickey thompson ET streets http://www.mickeythompsontires...treet
and the M&H cheater slick
http://www.mandhtires.com/stor...detai
both in the 26/10.5/15

But im unsure of which one to get, can anyone provide any info out there...
I aint worried about how long they last, i just want the best grip possible, as these will only be used on the strip.

thanks

The M&H DOT works really well on the hondas. GodfatherofBoost has run 10.3 on it. enough said.

If you wanna stay on a radial tire,go ET street tires..
If it being a radial is not the issue then go bias ply, those suckers hook.

seems liek M&H takes the win so far...
i dont need a radial, i just need a tire thats sticky as hell and is DOT approved
seems like people here are talking about the MT ET street radial alot....but im sure the ET street is better than the radial in traction wise on the strip.?

you shouldnt use a 26" tire with that hp. use a m&h 235/60/15 its 25.4" tall. I avg 1.78-1.84 with a best of 1.73 on that tire.

On the hooseir drag radail 225/50/15 my best 60' has been 1.82. I dont thinks its your tires I think that you need to drive/set up your car better. I dropped 2 tenths off my 60's with a $30 susp. changes. This year I'll try out the M&H's (because they are now legal for P/S) and see how they work.

why shuoldnt i use a 26" tire with my power??
I have worked out all my gearing and it should be fine.
I dont think I can really do anymore to the suspension its got Tein adjustables on it already and i use a launch controller so i set my launch rpm and i get the same 60ft every single time. Tracks in my country are alot slippery than tracks over US, The quality of your tracks are much better.

I cant use traction bars as most hondas do as my toyota has an A arm setup.

MTs are easy for me to get and I can get them cheap
M&H i have to order them from the states and it will cost me alot more..

so i have to weigh up my options.

Hi bazda: Now this is a good thing here. Godfatherofboost was the man that ran the 10.33@144mph on the P235/60-15 M&H, he was just helping out and the man is good. When Godfatherofboost comes on to this forum and that is not much, he is here for you and here to make you go fast. Send me a PM and Tell me what sizes you need in the M&H, and let's see if I can help you out.

John

What do you know about tires/slicks? What's your experience with them?

what kind of tire pressure are you guys using on the M&H DOT bias ply? also, any fitment problems on lowered cars? Im about .75in lower in the front and these tires are 25.4" so Im wondering how close to the limit I am.

For street driving which tire would last the most.

M&H 235/60/15 or MT 235/60/15

The MH will out last the mt radial and any bfg. The made thing with the bias ply tires at the track you have to treat them like a slick.

Besides out of the hole, how is traction with the hoosiers? I was thinking of running them ont he street since my car doesn't hoock up untill 4th on pump gas(501whp). I mainly care about dead hoocking in 3rd so the car is fun to drive again.

As for your dilema, I would go witht he MandH 235s. From what I have read they are amazing. IIRC they don't offer the regular et streets in anything smaller than a 26x10.5 and the bias ply M&H will probably hoock a lot harder than the MT drag radial.

ET Street tires are a Bias Ply tire.

ET Street Radials are their radial tire. I've found the Radials actually hook better than the ET Street bias ply tires.

I cant honestly say what tire is better. What I can say is the M&H tires work great. Not to mention the couple times I have dealt with John were great. A couple years ago he called me back from the hospital after his wife gave birth. Talk about customer service

The hoosiers are pretty good, on the street they will hook up mint, on our drag strips here they seem to not hook up very well at all unless VHT is put donw (alot of it). I was racing last night and was wheel spinning in 3rd on the strip, thats how slippery it gets, but would never have that issue on the road.

there is too many choices i duno what to get.
I will prob try out a MT 26x10.5x15 first as I can get it very cheap as i know the owner of a store who brings them in where I live. If i'm not happy with them then i'll go try a M&H.
