Moved my battery to the trunk! Drove the CRX...finally!
I'd driven my CRX a grand total of 8 miles before today...the exact distance from the previous owner's house to my garage. I swapped in a new water pump, new timing belt, a 95 Civic CX radiator, some new tires (dayum...you shoulda seen the old ones!
), and finally got the battery into the trunk.
It feels great to finally drive the car...I was getting real sick of looking at it on jackstands for 3 months. hehe
The engine has 195k on it and it still runs like a champ. The car ran pretty strong...it's gonna be wicked fast with the ZC turbo.
Here are pics of the battery move:

you should get the sealed battery ASAP... that doesnt look very safe.

The only reason it is there was so that I would have a reference point for the cables. I drive the good ole gutless Nissan pickup to work and the CRX is the project. I'll either get a sealed battery box (and bolt it all to the chassis) or an Optima or DynaBatt battery.

I was thinkin of strappin my battery to my chest with the top popped off the battery...I'm gonna try it out and let ya know...
Yager-

mmm, hydrogen gas!
I think when I do that I'll use a 4Ga amp kit and a fuseable link with a sealed mower battery.

Did you read this paragraph that I wrote?NOTE: This battery is not a sealed-gel type, so this configuration is not safe. It is only temporary.
Don't worry...I'll fix it! It will be fully strapped down, too. I was just anxious to share pics.

how did the radiator swap go? any mods required. weight diferences etc
1) The radiator cap on the CX radiator is right on top of the radiator. On the stock radiator, it is offset to towards the firewall via a "neck". After the radiator is installed, you won't have access to the cap. You basically need to install a remote filler cap in the hose between the radiator and the head. No biggie there.
2) The thermoswitch that is located in the bottom of the stock radiator does not plug into anywhere on the CX radiator. That's because this switch was moved to the block on the later engines. I'm working on a way to make this work. Without it, basically you must manually control the fan.
3) The fan's electrical plug is different. The CRX plug is white and round. The CX rad plug is rectangular and grey. You can either put an OBD1 connector on the wiring harness or put an OBD0 style connector on the fan.
