It depends on what specific Spoon part. I think that there are many other companies that provide equal quality parts for less money. Spoon N1 coilovers are the **** though .

Spoon is considered overrated for the most part and you end up paying for the name.

Just my $0.02.

Engineering, technology and manufacturing keeps improving with time. Spoon stopped making B-series and DC2R parts years ago. Since then, many companies have designed and manufactured better parts available at a reasonable price.

Spoon parts are well designed and work well, especially when complimented with other Spoon parts. There is no denying that. But there are better options now.

^^ Hi Marshal. Been snowboarding?

On my old Type-R I had purchased and installed:
SPOON Front strut tower brace
SPOON Rear strut tower brace
SPOON Front lower tie rod bar
SPOON Rear lower tie rod bar
SPOON Oil filler cap
SPOON Spark plug wire cover
SPOON Radaitor hoses
SPOON fan switch
SPOON low temp thermostat
SPOON high pressure radiator cap
SPOON reservior socks
SPOON steering wheel

It was fun for about a week. Then I realized I could have used that money on stuff that was cheaper and probably more functional. Personally, I felt the strut tower braces and the tie rod bars were a bit on the 'flimsy' side. All the other stuff really wasn't needed either.

With the steering wheel, I liked how it matched the seats with the red stitching, though I was so **** about getting the red stitching dirty, I wouldn't fully rap my fingers around the wheel, just pinch it.

Though they do make good calipers and coilovers. If doing it again, I would not purchase any of that stuff.

No one really needs to ask about spoon products any more as they have all been covered before and a search will bring up a multitude of threads on all the various parts.

yep there it was the comment i was waiting for, the question was refering to as why have i not noticed people using thier products anymore. it seems that mugen has not follen off and in many cases their products are MORE expensive. all this is coming from a guy that had to leave the game not soon after Shawn Hilliar got his spooned out EK in superstreet, and also had just bought best of motoring 1 Type R legend, back in early 02, i guess things change and overtime people catch the competition.

spoon are good parts. my mechanic has said whenever he gets spoon bits, they bolt up and work straight away, OEM fitment quality, never any issues

and it lasts

however you do pay a premium for this

there are some parts which are overpriced and useless, but some of the parts you are just paying for good quality

if you can afford to do it twice you can afford to do it once properly
