Well it should go with out saying but check for leaks, ask if you can compression test the motor.

Feel for grinds in the tranny 2-3 is a common one.

Rust is common now with 4th gens sadly look around for it mostly the rear fenders is where it starts.

As far parts on the motor you buy for the motor. Car related things for the car.

That hole in the intake pipe should be plugged, or run to the VC like it was meant to be. Doesn't seem like a bad buy though.

edit: the battery should be tied down too, you don't want that flying around shorting things and such. Also watch for that terminal making contact with the metal of the intake. Happened to me and I had to replace all of the bulbs on the dimmer circuit.

ouch, i kind of want to move it to the back of the car, not sure what it would cost for the wireing and stuff, and right now it has a stock rubber pipe with a cone filter on it... i'll probably get a cai, but then it needs a stock exhaust and then tires and it should be ready to drive daily

You should be focusing on getting an EF with less rust than that........

for $1700 you can buy a cleaner civic with a stock motor and not 'rigged'

if you plan on fixing it up anyway, buy a cleaner car and build up from that.

if you chrome a turd, its still a turd.
