Default Car Idle.......

When My Car First Starts It Is Completly Fine But When It Warms Up The Idle Drops To 600rpm.....This Is Like After 10mins.....Any Idea's What Can Be Wrong?

I Have A B16aSir2 motor in my car.

You Think Cleaning Out The IACV Screen Will Fix That/Is That The Problem?

i dont think its the IACV ... check your timing ... does your car stall ?

cleaning it cant hurt though

nope it doesnt stall at all ever, its not the timing cause otherwise i would have other problems, just the idle drops when the car is warm. i did just replace a raditator can that also have anything to do with it?

well...first off, what does it idle at when its warming up???it suppost to idle a bit high so the coolant can get hot...once its warm, the idle will drop...so lets say when you car is warming up it idles at 1kRPM, thenthat would be too low and will have to raise it up usng the idle screw...so if you raise it using the screw, then once its warm it should idle higher too...maybe at the normal 800rpm...when i cleaned out my IACV it fixed my idle problem...

I believe someone needs to write a full article on all problems that can be wrong with idle rpm because their are far too many posts like this.

you see...when it warms up..i believe it suppost to be at like at 1500RPM on cold start and as it warms up it should be like at 800....just adjust the idle screw a bit higher .. people say its bad to mess with the screw but i never had problems with it or heard anyone having problems from it..

Ok so today I took off my IACV and it was black, now its silver again (The Screen). While I was at it I also changed out my spark plugs to new ones, Thank God I did because the old ones were black, I haven't changed them in over a yr, close to 2.

your fine, did you just get a honda? Because when i first got my honda i wondered the same as you were.. noticig for the first month being the summer and all the idle wasnt htat big.. then when it started to get colder i noticed the idle thing, but then realized its normal... my car on really cold days hits about 1700 rpm at start up but then drops to 700-800
