Tire Recommendations 205/40/17
Hey My Yokohama Parada Spec 2's are wearing down to the belts so its time to hunt for sum new tires. Anyone have any recommendations? This is for summer driving since I have winter tires. I was thinking of Toyo T1s or Yokohama AVS Sports.
It really depends on your budget, but here are my 2 recommendations:
Best bang for the buck: Kumho Ecsta SPT $60/tire from TireRack
Best overall: Goodyear F1 GS-D3 $125/tire from Tire Rack
I always recommend buying the best tire possible as it is the only thing actually touching the road but if you can't swing the Goodyears, the Ecsta SPT is still an excellent tire and will be miles ahead of your old Parada's.

I agree with everything Jon says here. Compared with the other tires you mention, the SPT is just about as good as the Toyo T1R and the Yokohama AVS Sport, and a lot cheaper than either one. And the Goodyear is much better than either one.
I would add a few more things worth considering:
The Kumho Ecsta SPT sells for $69/tire from Discount Tire Direct, which offers free shipping. Shipping (which you pay for, from the Tire Rack) usually runs around $10-12 or so per tire, so you can probably save a few bucks getting them from Discount Tire rather than the Tire Rack.
The Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is an excellent tire too.
In addition to these two, I would add a couple more choices worth considering:
If you don't care about anything except dry traction, you might want to consider the Falken Azenis RT-615, $93/tire at Vulcan. The RT-615 has the best dry pavement traction of any street tire, even better than the Goodyear. However, it wears very fast (figure only about 10-12K miles, vs 25-40K for the F1 GS-D3 or maybe 30-45K for the SPT) and it's not that great in rain.
Right now the Tire Rack has the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A on sale for $67/tire at the Tire Rack. This is an excellent all-around street tire, similar to and maybe not quite as good as the Goodyear but darn close. It's usually priced more than the Goodyear. I don't know what the deal is or why they are so inexpensive right now, but they are, so this is a chance to get a better tire than the SPT for around the same price. Oh, and the RE050A won't last anywhere near as long as the SPT or F1 GS-D3, figure maybe 15-20K miles for the RE050A.
