Bare with me, Im sorta new to Civics but have done some engine work on Toyota pickups and what not.

I have a D16y8 with no head on a engine stand that I want to build and throw in my 97 ex civic. Its going to be a daily driver but I would like it to be a fast one My questions are:

Should I put aftermarket pistons/rods in it? if so which ones?

What head should I put on it? What should I have done to the head before putting it in?

What cam should i go with? What intake? What kinda horse power can expect out of this thing? I would like to get 160hp or more if its possible, but its not necessary.

A good way to start is to get a clear picture of what you want. Boost, n/a, blah blah blah. And then the search button is your friend

 

Ya, I dont think I want to spend a few grand on a turbo... so i guess i want to go all motor.
