Default can itr pistons take the abuse?

i came across a jdm itr block. im plannin on buildin it up all motor high comp. but i need some advise because im not to sure if the itr pistons will stand up to the abuse. i plan on using the jdm oversize itr pistons, so any help would be appreciated. as far as the rest of the mods, im not to sure just yet. its one thing at a time and just doing my homework and saving my money for now. i have the block sitting at home and so thats where im starting im sure you all know how that is. so a simple yes or no is fine. if you have details or any other pistons you think would do better would be nice to hear as well. but i have my heart set on those oversized pistons thanks

oh and by the way ... not daily drivin. only weekend and track drivin!!

May I suggest some B16 pistons if you want higher compression. P30s with a 2 layer HG and maybe some flat faced valves would be nice.

And, Of course they will handle your all motor abuse.

yeah i did some research before posting and thats what alot of people suggested. well i guess u can throw in ctr pistons in there too and aftermarkets as well. but i wanted to ask about oem pistons before going the aftermarket way. thanks for the info. and i plan on going flat facs as well .... BUT... have to stay focused on the block first haha hard to do that cause i want to do everything all at once.

anymore info out there?

bump .... if you need more info on my project,

all motor high compression. looking to be around 11.5 to 12.0 to 1 compression. nothing more. looking to get about 200 to the wheels.. well im hopeing AT LEAST that. jdm type r block. head will probably be itr as well. not to sure what all the mods will be because i just want to focus on the block first. one step at a time ya know. ill defenitly get the block cleaned up before putting everything together. but for now its just findin the right parts to go with my build. this will be my first ever motor build so im trying to do it right. im sure ill mess up somewhere along the line but tryin to keep that as minaml as possible. ive played with the compression calculater on here and ive come up with a compression of 11.6 with p30 pistons and a compression of 11.4 with jdm itr pistons. both of those give me what im looking for. with a 2 layer head gasket. but now would going with aftermarket rods give me more longevity and strength over stock rods?? and also that same question with pistons, while im at it haha. will aftermarket pistons give me longer life and strength than stock?? not to say i want my motor to last me 5 years but for the most part stand up to the abuse of a track and weekend fun!!

P30 pistons will give more compression than the ITRs. For an all motor setup, keep the stock bottom end.. they are great from the factory. You can always upgrade to ARP rod bolts, if you feel the need to!

For a mild all motor setup OEM parts are excellent!

stock rods will be fine if anything take them to a machine shop and get hem shotpeened this will make the rod stronger.

well...since you said you were going to go for a minimum of 200HP...i suggest you dont waste your money on an ITR because you gonna want someafter market cams anyway...just cop a B16 head and do a nice port & polish job and upgrade your valvetrain....

BTW

headgaskets come with 1 layer 2 layer and 3 layers. not to sure if they make more than a 3 layer headgasket. the thinner it is the higher your compression goes. i plan on using a 2 layer headgasket. my own personal prefrence.

but yes i planned on using a b16 head and p&p it. the works ya know. thanks for the advice.

No it will not. Honda rods are shotpeened from the factory.

Pull the middle layer from a Honda head gasket.. and now it is 2 layers instead of 3.
