Default EM1.... I need some help

Hello Everybody,
I planning on getting a 2000 Honda Civic Si.
But I have some questions
1. How good is the Engine? (N/A, Turbo, Supercharger)
2. How Well built is the car?, and also how does it respone to mods?
3. How's insurance on them?

Just want some info .

1. How good is the Engine? good for under 240whp on boost.
2. How Well built is the car? its a ******* honda
3. How's insurance on them? My 92 hatch was rated a 15, so dont expect to match insurance prices of a volvo. Im 17 with 1 speeding ticket and i dont have the most basic i think i have 25/50/25 and it runs me 180a month.

1. depends on how much money you want to spend
2. depends what mods. stock hondas are built to last.
3. depends.

so the answer is depends...next time maake your questions clear.

I guess "Depends" helps alot

I just wanted to know a little about the car, before I get one.

Maybe some specs, or even better some feed back for the owners.

Its a Honda, you can beat them and they will still run.. Even if you blow up the engine you can get a new one for like 300 bucks.

I'd only recommend getting the Si if you don't want to swap.

I know some disagree with that, but I see more sense in getting an EX or lower trim if you plan to do an engine swap (well, unless you really have your heart set on EBP).

i dont see why you would want to that unless you are worried about weight...

Insurance is also a factor... It'll be a little cheaper to insure a DX than it would be to insure an SI... Even if you swap a b16 into a DX chassis, you'll still be paying the DX rate...

I just recently bought my EM1 and am fully satisfied, I also had a '89 Hatch. I would say go for it, (1) The new car feeling is awesome (2) Its an Si with an awesome platform for building anything off of. All the stuff you would put into a DX, EX, HX is in the Si. Insurance isn't bad at all for it. Full coverage for me is $150 a month.

Not everything. My biggest complaint about the Si *is* the engine. I'd love one with another engine in there though. The B16A2 isn't bad, it's just that there are better choices out there imo.

People buy the cx vx models because they are lightest..But they are lightest because of the non-existant comforts. I like my powersteering/sunroof/ac equiped hatch even if it is 100lbs more.

1. How good is the Engine? (N/A, Turbo, Supercharger) Depends on how well it was treated prior. Most likely it was beaten the **** out of.
2. How Well built is the car?, and also how does it response to mods? Car has it's share of minor problems, other than that its a typical Civic. Mods as in bolt ons wont give you too much noticeable gains.
3. How's insurance on them? Through the roof.

Well, for 6th gen owners, if you want a hatch, you're just going to end up with a slightly lighter car and none of those power options. If you plan to swap, upgrade brakes, wheels, etc, (and don't plan to go with stuff comparable to Si parts) then an EX coupe might be a decent idea.

My boyfriend has a '97 CX hatch, but it has little to do with it being the lightest. He bought it because he wanted another Honda and liked the hatchbacks.

The em1 is fairly quick for a stock car. And compared to most old hondas feels much more solid . Youre asking how good the engine is on boost? Well why dont you search how much psi and horsepower people are making on stock b16's. Definately would recommend you build the b16 first though if youre looking for reliability.

i am currently selling my em1.. i love the car but it is time for something different.. as for motor tq sucks and on the freeway it sits at about 3.5k going 65 mph. it has been a very solid car cant complain.. just drove it 14 hours and not a problem.. if anything if you get one i would go boost imo. but either way your getting a solid car that has alot of potential if done right

Rates depend on the zip code. I pay somewhere around the area of 600 bucks for 6 months full coverage. Thats with a bunch of discounts as well.
