Ok so i go to get my car inspected, i knew not to be suprised if it didnt pass and it didnt but it didnt for reasons that plain **** me off. Ok so here we go, i got denied for 3 things, no front license plate, whatever no big deal, ill slap one on when i go back, number two, he couldnt get a jack under my car to check the front end? i jack my car up all the time to get under it?????? there are side skirts so i understand what hes saying. but this is what really has me fustrated. He says my exhaust is to loud? its got the stock cat on it still. Now what am i sapossed to do? it was all welded by an exhaust shop, i have no stock exhaust laying around? im screwed? im wondering how all these guys around here pass with their exhaust? and most of them are louder than my car?

I live in MA, Anyone know any places that will let some of this slide?

 

This doesnt sound like a BAR inspection so im assuming that you had a fix it ticket and had to show up at the Sherrif Office? The stock cat isn't going to keep your dba's down if you have 2"+ piping and an aftermarket muffler ya know? What exhaust are you running?

 

buy a muffler silencer. then he cant say anything about it. and go to another inspection dude. if you can jack it up and he cant. hes gay.

+1... but -1 on the silensor...My buddy bought an egay muffler just to have something on there besides his straight pipe and he bought one with a silensor to keep the level midway between a stock an apex'i N1 (that was his reasoning)...He got the muffler and it was a straight through thing and on the tip there was a cone with a smaller tube bolted on 1..(1!!) side and it flapped around bad...I dont know about other silensors but that one was gaaay. I say your fine just get a different inspector.

And the more "stock" the muffler looks the better. And if they ask you to get in the car and rev it up, be sure to gradually bring the revs up and not just jump on it. Try and ES tuning muffler or something similar.

 

no its just a regular inspection that you need to do every so often. the mufflers are magnaflow along with the tips (dualies) and the piping is just some custom work done by the exhaust shop. i guess ill have to get a silencer but my tips arent circles, screw those soup can muffler tips. i got some oval type ones so i dunno, this is all a mess.

 

You can get a resonator too

 

hopefully you own a pair of coilovers. raise em up, leave, drop em down.
