Default Removing Wiper Arm.

Sup guys! My wiper arm is starting to take the old car status. The black colored paint has turn to bare metal(the steel).

I wanna take it off and paint it. I don't want to do it on the car, cuz it's going to create some overspray. And I live in a semi windy area.

I will be doing this on the 5th Gen accord. 96 Honda Accord EX 2dr. 4cyl.

Thanks GUYS!

newspaper + tape = do it on the car

if you want to take it off

1 bolt at the bottom of the arm (open the hood) and it'll come right off, sand and paint flat black or semi flat

One more thing. If you lightly sand it, the paint will stick better.

Is it hard to take out?

They can be wedged on there pretty good. Either tug real hard or use something under it to pry it up but be careful to not break the plastic cowl thats covers the wiper motor assembly.

I took my wipers off last night and sanded them down so i can paint them!!! All you have to do to get them off is take that one bolt off and lift the arm up! ( You know the part where it bends if you were going to clean under then, stands straight up!!) When you lift the arm up it will slide right off with no problem, so if you do this you wil not have to pry or force it off and take a chance on breaking anything!!!!

Yep you just take that nut off thats holds the wiper arm on. I took mine off and repainted them. Looked good for a while but it's starting to flake off in a spot now so I need to do it again.

ditto. bend the arm to make it straight. then pull up. i took mine off and repainted it with out sanding. i will do this next time. using one had on the bending part and the other else where to lift up makes it easier.

You didnt sand them? I am doing mine now and it looks a whole lot better when you sand before painting! You might want to use a sander though because it will take forever with out one! But yeah im in the painting part now!

Cover the windshield well if your painting it when its on the car, Like im talking really good, because if you dont, after u take the paper off, youll see outlines of the paper on your windshield

cool...i learned something new today

and in response to cityslicker. just ebcause he doesnt know how to remove his wiper doesnt make him a dumbass. he simply didnt know how and decided to ask here, a free source of information. plus, i've done full suspension removal and install, helped do engine swaps, etc. but i still have problem changing my wiper baldes. its just one of those things where you never really think of learning or doing til you have to.

noob or not. it doesn't give him the right to disrespect you like that Kid. it makes him the *** for saying such. its people like him that pisses a whole forum off it which people would want banned. can you run a mechanic shop. have you replaced suspension parts, have you done any welding, have you done any motor swaps, tranny swaps. can you count the number of times you were helpful on here. i bet it wasn't over 20. i am sure you haven't done at least one of these. we all can learn and teach on here. insults are opinions in which they are better off kept to yourself.

There are so many flaws in the forum. But most people here are helpful and offer suggestions. Some are just being ******. Besides this is a forum, you can ask what ever you want. Tech=Technical. You ask how to do this, or solve any problems.

Anyways thanks guys, imma try that trick.
